Canada’s new Food & Lifestyle multi-platform channel launched nationally on December 11, 2013 

Programming line-up to feature ‘Food all night, fun all day’

Gusto TV, Canada’s new Food & Lifestyle specialty channel, is pleased to announce highlights of its programming line-up, following the channel’s launch on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

The independent media broadcast will offer exciting new programming to viewers, through TV and subscription video on demand service, as well as the convenience of TV Everywhere, including broadband to computers, tablets and devices.

Gusto is Food All Night, Fun All Day. Gusto TV will air prime time cooking and culinary travel shows every evening – plus fun and exciting lifestyle, home, fashion, health and wellness shows throughout the day.

Donna Hay Fast, Fresh, Simple: Australia’s favorite celebrity author, food stylist and magazine editor creates delicious meals using her own clever short-cuts and tricks of the trade. With her relaxed approach to food and sought-after signature style, Donna shows that every home cook can prepare beautiful and great-tasting meals without any of the fuss. Weeknights (Monday – Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. back-to-back weekend episodes starting Saturday December 21 at 10:00 p.m. and Sundays at noon.

Martha Stewart’s Cooking School: Martha shows viewers how to be a star in their own kitchen. Focused on the ultimate kitchen essentials, from perfect roasting and poaching to braising and blanching. Weekdays (Monday – Friday) 8:30 a.m.; repeats at 6:30 p.m.

Martha Bakes: Martha shares her very best secrets to give home bakers the tools and tips they need to create the finest desserts and baked goods, all from scratch. Weekdays (Monday – Thursday) at 7:00 p.m.

Julia Child The French Chef: Join cooking legend Julia Child as she hosts the pioneering series “The French Chef.” One of the first cooking shows to appear on television, it debuted in 1963 and ran for a decade. In the show, Child introduces American cooks to French cuisine using recipes from her best-selling cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Gusto TV will air the original black & white series in primetime, uncut and without commercial breaks. Premiering December 11th at 7:00 p.m. (launch). Weeknights at 6:00 p.m. to follow.

My Kitchen Rules: Real food, real people. Australia’s favorite home-cooking show features aspiring chefs competing in kitchens across the country. A Down Under culinary competition that’s wowed audiences around the world. Each team takes turns transforming an ordinary home into an instant restaurant for one pressure cooker night. It’s state versus state, plate against plate, as teams of two attempt to out-dine and out-wine each other to see whose kitchen rules. Weeknights (Monday – Thursday) at 9:00 p.m., Saturdays at 9:00 p.m.

World Kitchen: Host Nici Wickes visits the world’s top culinary travel destinations in this fast-paced contemporary series. Wickes’ adventures take her from glamorous Michelin star restaurants to humble back alley food stalls and friendly locals’ kitchens. Gain inspiration and ideas for dishes to recreate back home, from Mexico and Jamaica, to India, Japan and Hong Kong. Wednesday nights 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, Fridays at 7:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

Rocco DiSpirito Now Eat This!: On the heels of the success of his #1 New York Times bestselling low-calorie cookbook, award-winning celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito transforms favorite comfort foods like mac & cheese, fried chicken and brownies into deliciously healthy dishes. Rocco shares his best time-saving shortcuts, helpful advice from his own personal weight loss, and nutritional recipe breakdowns. Finally, a world-class chef has made healthy food taste great!  Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. Fridays at 9:00 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.

The Edible Roadshow: A gastronomic adventure across Canada, hosted by food connoisseur Carlo Rota. Rota explores regional and ethnic influences around various locales. Take in breathtaking scenery from coast-to-cast while learning about mouth-watering Canadian cuisine. From the art of the pig roast in southwestern Ontario to foraging for porcini mushrooms in the Gatineau Hills, and discovering whether Regina is the pizza capital of the world.  Monday to Friday 12:00 p.m. & 12:30 p.m., 11:00 p.m. & 11:30 p.m. Repeating Sunday mornings at 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Annabel Langbein The Free Range Cook: Host Annabel Langbein shares the secrets of her free-range cooking style as she gathers and prepares fresh, seasonal ingredients in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Whether it’s vegetables from her own gardens or giant crayfish harvested in secluded fjords, Langbein shows how easy it is to bring good food into today’s fast-paced world. Weeknights (Monday –Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. (starting January 2nd).

Rachel Allen’s Easy Meals: Ireland’s favorite chef and best-selling cookbook author lets us into her life and shares the secrets to relaxed and simple cooking. Foolproof recipes, easy-to-follow methods and thoughtful advice to help viewers make quick meals with no fuss. Mondays at 10:00 and 10:30 p.m., Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. (repeat).

Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers: Renowned UK food writer, cookbook author and broadcaster puts simplicity back into meal time, with an emphasis on fresh recipes and ingredients pulled from the garden. Episodes cover a week in the life of Nigel’s cooking, in which he prepares memorable and delicious meals aimed at those who’d rather spend more time eating than cooking. Thursdays 8:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m. (repeat), Sundays 8:00 p.m. (repeat) 11:00 p.m. (repeat).

Rick Stein’s Mediterranean Escapes: Celebrity restaurateur and award-winning food author Rick Stein takes viewers on a gastronomic journey. Follow along as Rick explores the Mediterranean coastline and islands, in search of the region’s best food. Fridays at 8:00 p.m.

Secret Removers: U.K. movers/decorators take over from homeowners as they move into new digs. In each episode, a crack team of designers hijacks a family’s belongings and moves them into their new home. But there’s a twist – not everything will arrive with them. Weekdays (Mon-Fri) 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (repeat).

My Fair Wedding: Celebrity “Wedding planner to the stars” David Tutera guides ordinary people to a better wedding experience – just three weeks before the already fully-planned event. After the dream team catches the bride-to-be by surprise, they tell her they can offer her the wedding of her dreams — if she signs over all control to them. A Place in the Sun Home and Away: The show that helps house-hunters find dream holiday homes with advice from international property experts. Join the hunters as they explore these beautiful spots and choose between buying on British soil and settling somewhere more exotic. Weekdays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (repeat), Saturdays 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (repeat). Sundays at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (repeat).
