1001 Arubian Nights!

The beautiful island of Aruba, known as The One Happy Island is currently celebrating “Arubapalooza”. Perfect in fall, Arubapalooza includes many events and festivals across the island that portray it’s culture by featuring fashion, food, history and music. Housing more than 90 different nationalities, Aruba is rich in multicultural influences making the island and this celebration incredibly unique.

Every Monday will feature “Little White Dress Night”. More than 25 different establishments partake allowing men and women wearing white to receive special perks. Every Thursday on the main street in San Nicolas, a lively outdoor market opens up giving people the opportunity to purchase authentic merchandise and food from vendors.

The One Happy Foodie is a new campaign with a chance to win a five-night trip to Aruba for two. In order to win, fans of Aruba are challenged to take the original recipes from three famous Aruban chefs and change one part of it to make it their own creation. You can enter to win on Aruba’s Facebook page but the deadline is Friday, Oct. 18 – so act fast! The winner will be chosen based on creativity and quality of their submission and in addition to the five-night stay at the Westin Resort & Casino they will be given a $100 ift card for island restaurants, a meet-and-greet with the Westin chef and their airfare will be taken care of.

Here are the three signature dishes to which contestants may add their secret ingredient:

  • Queen’s Restaurant / Chef Luisa Bermudez / Keshi Yena
  • Old Cunucu House / Chef Kevin John Creutzberg / Keri Keri
