Together, The Montfort Hospital Foundation and Casino Du Lac-Leamy are pleased to welcome spectators to Nepean Point for the spectacular 2017 edition of Casino Du Lac-Leamy Sound of Light. Five of the best international pyrotechnical teams are responsible for creating a unique and outstanding display of light and sound inspired by our country and its history.

The event takes place over the span of five evenings in accordance with celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary: Saturday, August 5th – Ontario; Wednesday, August 9th – Manitoba; Saturday, August 12th – Quebec; Wednesday, August 16th - Alberta and Saturday, August 19th for the Grand Finale.

The first performance took place this past Saturday where attendees began to gather around 6:00pm, setting up blankets and chairs in anticipation of a beautiful show. Garden City Display Fireworks put together of combination of iconic Canadian songs in a performance entitled “Made in Canada”.

Tomorrow, Archangel Fireworks will present “Spirit of the Nation” to honour our country’s first inhabitants. On Saturday August 12th, Quebec’s, Feux d’artifice Orion, will transport the audience through time and across our lands with “History of Canada”. On Wednesday August 16th enjoy a celebration of Canadian artists as their voices merge with the impressive pyrotechnic work of Alberta’s Fireworks Spectacular Canada. Explore a world of magic during the Sound of Light’s grand finale on Saturday August 19th. During “Dreamcatcher”, Royal Pyrotechnic will make your dreams come true as the sky lights up to soft yet powerful melodies.

There is no better place to watch the display than at Nepean Point, right across the Gatineau’s Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa. This elevated point is a fantastic location to admire the fireworks and offers a front row view for everyone!
