bands and more, check, share and discuss
#OLMBest every Monday!

Wag Café and Pet Lounge

This local spot is the capital’s first and only pet-friendly café, serving treats for humans and pets alike. A stellar menu, free Wi-Fi and bistro seating make it the perfect spot to sit and stay awhile. Services also include regular seminars, workshops, full and half-day daycare, puppy playgroups and an off-leash lounge.

Bruce Pit

The Bruce Pit dog park on Cedarview Road is particularly social. Owners often bring chairs and water to chat while their dogs roam the wide open space. Hiking trails and sandy areas vary the scenery and there is plenty of parking.

The Pampered Pet

This pet boutique, located on Bank Street, specializes in all-natural dry food for dogs, cats and pocket pets. You can even pick up a brand-new pet – they sell small birds and reptiles, including salamanders, lizards, snakes, and chameleons. They also feature a frequent shopper loyalty program, as well as grooming services and walk-in nail trims.

Dogz Canine Sports Centre

This 29-acre farm in Nepean serves as a sport training facility for dogs. They have a large fenced-in off-leash play area, agility classes for all levels and the ball herding sport Treibball. The newly renovated centre also hosts friendly and social agility competitions and AAC trials between May and October. They also offer green fees.

Canine Water Wellness

Splash around with your dog at Canine Water Wellness. Services include hydrotherapy swims and U-swims that let you swim with your dog. Staff spend time getting to know your pet before getting in the pool and provide a progress report after each swim. The salt water eliminates the need for harsh chemicals and a wash and dry room lets pups clean off before or after their dip.

Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa

Luxury grooming boutique Purrdy Paws is dedicated to pampering your pet. Founded by Master Certified Feline Groomer Jayme Montero, uses local products. Proof of adoption through a registered rescue organization gets you 5% off grooming and their Refer a Friend program gives you $5 off your next appointment.

Furry Friends Spa

If you’re looking to add a little more flair to your pet’s grooming, Furry Friends is the one for the job. In addition to general dog and cat grooming, they also do creative grooming. They’re open Tuesday through Sunday and have cat boarding, dog daycare, workshops and a boutique.

Masters n Dogs

Masters n Dogs carries a wide range of items for both dogs and cats, including food suitable for special diets. The on-site BARKery creates hand-made gourmet dog treats. They also have a daycare service and a sPAW offering full grooming services.

Cats R Us

This small shop in the Glebe is family owned. Not only do they sell toys, food and general cat care items, but also a selection of cat-themed items for humans ranging from clocks to aprons. It’s worth a visit just to say to say hi to Mokey, the resident cat.

Conroy Pit

This dog park is home to lots of off-leash nature trails and grassy paths, as well as a forested area. It’s well-maintained and gets pretty busy on the weekends. The area is also popular with bikers.
