Big, Big Talent in Little Red Boots

Every now and then a singer comes along with the  "it" factor. The latest version of that adage is Canada’s own Lindi Ortega, a sultry voiced alt-country balladeer whose distinctive voice is reminiscent of a cross between Loretta Lynn and  Dolly Parton.

Her  debut  album, Little Red Boots is a raspy, soulful and unique serving of alt country, blues, folk, and pop. This girl can sing. Ortega combines  great lyrics with her  unique mix of Johnny Cash type infectious giddy-up strings that  all comes together as truly unique.   (Listen to the song Black Fly and you’ll get what I mean by the Dolly Parton comparison). She is in lockstep with her great back-up band. Ortega is going places –a writer, a singer and guitarist with loads of charisma and a great stage presence. The infectious song Little Lie will be a chart topper for sure if CMT and other radio broadcasters give it some play. Check her out at Ottawa’s Café Dekcuf on June  18.
