Glowfair is back this Friday and Saturday taking over ten blocks on Bank Street and you can’t miss Glow Yoga with Nigel Walker.

From 6 to 11 p.m. yogis of all levels are invited to take over two blocks on Bank Street between Cooper and Maclaren.

Ottawa Life had the chance to speak with Nigel Walker who is well known in the yoga community. He tells us what Glow Yoga is and what it’s like to be leading a street block packed with people.

“Glow Yoga is a celebration of the human spirit. We bring yoga to public spaces in a fun, accessible and community-driven way. People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are welcome. Expect yoga, music, black lights, body paint and great times!

Leading this class is absolutely incredible. Of all the events and classes that I lead it's my favourite one. There's something very special about practicing in the streets of downtown Ottawa. The energy that people bring and seeing the diverse crowd that shows up brings me so much joy! It's a practice where everyone is there to celebrate life and support each other and it's free of judgment or competition.”

Here is everything you need to know, so you don’t miss anything!

Get to the block for 6 p.m. to explore local vendors like Pure Kitchen, Planet Botanix, Pure Yoga, Elevate Yoga, Rawlicious, Yoga Attic, The Daily Method Ottawa, Barre and Cycle, and Tease Tea!

After you check out all the vendors, get prepped to Glow with Nigel Walker with body paint.

At 7 p.m. let the Ottawa Circus School inspire you to get flexible with an Acroyoga performance, then try out your new inspired moves with their free workshop.

Don’t miss Lucila Al Mar’s performances at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. She covers an array of genres, and glows as she expresses who she is through singing, in both Spanish and English.

At 9:20 you have a chance to win tickets to Canada’s yoga and music festival, Emerge Festival. Then The Daily Method Ottawa will be demonstrating a spin class before yoga starts with Nigel Walker.

The moment Ottawa has been waiting for, our time to glow with Nigel Walker will start at 10 p.m.

Leah Brathwaite will be leading a guided meditation, then Nigel will take it away with DJ Serious Black.

“The class will be an all-levels flow practice focused on movement with breath. The intention is to inspire and uplift the community and leave people feeling their absolute best.”

Ottawa’s glow will be even brighter after yoga with Nigel Walker.
