Benefit Concert with Tzeitel Abrego at Church of the Ascension, July 14

Beautiful Music and Food to celebrate hope of new lives for young girls who were rescued from the streets of Nicaragua. Tzeitel is generously donating her talents to support the girls of Las Yahoskas. All proceeds from this fundraiser will support the girls in receiving health care, nutritious food and education. Tzeitel Abrego singing in English and in Spanish. Doors Open and Nica Market at 6:30 p.m., Classical Crossover Concert at 7:30 p.m., and 8:45 p.m. light meal served Nicaraguan Style.


Ottawa Rhythm Festival at Shenkman Arts Centre, July 14

The Ottawa Rhythm Festival aspires to present the different manifestations of rhythm across regions and art forms. This year, they would again like to invite the community to join in celebrating the rhythms of the universe at the 2nd Annual Ottawa Rhythm Festival. From July 19th through 22nd experience as part of Northern Week some of the finest crafts and art works from Canada’s Far North. Meet seven specially invited artists, view the curated work and try your hand at traditional skills with the guidance that only a master crafter can provide. The half and full day workshops include soap-stone carving, basket weaving, caribou hair tufting, doll making, and more. The Marketplace will be open for viewing and purchasing daily from 11am to 8pm in the NAC Salon.

Fortissimo is a military and musical spectacular created for the lawns of Parliament Hill featuring massed military bands, pipes and drums, guest performers and the soldiers of the Ceremonial Guard.
