Polo in the Park Ottawa: Where fun, fashion and sport collide

The sound of thundering hooves, the daring displays among players, and spectators sipping champagne field side. That is Polo, also known as the sport of kings. This centuries-old sport is coming to Wesley Clover Park where two teams of mallet-wielding horse riders will compete in the 4th annual Polo in the Park Ottawa.

The Rotary Club of Ottawa South has partnered with Wesley Clover Parks and the Ottawa Polo Club to host the 4th annual Polo in the Park Ottawa fundraising event to benefit Wounded Warriors Canada and Rotary Club of Ottawa South Community Projects. Wounded Warriors Canada is the nation's leading Veteran's charity who are committed to ensuring a diverse set of programs and services, is provided for ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their Families.

For nearly half a century, the Rotary Club of Ottawa South has been serving the Ottawa and international communities by raising funds for youth, health care, the Aboriginal community, and international education organizations.

Polo in the park is a family-friendly, fun-filled day of activities (activity). Spectators can experience the excitement of an outdoor Arena Polo match from the stands. For some added rivalry, to this year’s match it’s a battle of the sexes, with women playing on behalf of Three Wild Women, and the men playing from the Ottawa Business Journal.

"Polo In the Park Ottawa is the only one of it’s kind in Ottawa. The atmosphere is fun, exciting, entertaining and promises pure enjoyment," said Monique Warrack, Chair of Polo in the Park Ottawa.

But that’s not all! There’s something for everyone including a fashion show, musical ride, mini escape room, search and rescue dog demo, and a fun-filled children’s area with pony rides, bouncy castle, and more.
