For the fourth year in a row, the annual Glowfair festival is set to light up Ottawa's Bank Street on June 16th and 17th.

This year the event is bigger than ever with 10 blocks along Bank Street hosting a variety of music performances and activities. Each block has a different theme, such as fitness, art and Canadiana to name a few, so there is truly something for everyone. Best of all, the festival is completely free! Here are just a few of the stand out activities you won’t want to miss.

Silent Disco (Main Stage area)

Like previous years, Glowfair is once again bringing back their Silent Disco event. For those new to this, silent disco is an activity growing in popularity in the electronic dance scene where DJs perform live sets broadcasted through headphones instead of speakers–allowing participants to have a more intimate, personal experience with the music.

Glowfair’s silent disco will be happening on both Friday and Saturday night, and while it does have a participation fee of $20, it is bound to be a unique and exciting experience for hard core music lovers!

Synthetic Skating Rink by Creativision (Cooper at Somerset)

For the first time ever, Glowfair will be hosting a synthetic skating rink! Not much information has been released about this, but media agency Creativision will be bringing winter fun to the summery event by somehow creating an ice rink without ice that guests will be able to skate on! This sounds quite revolutionary and fascinating, so it’s definitely something you won’t want to miss!

GlowYoga (Maclaren to Cooper)

GlowYoga is back again this year at Glowfair and bound to be one of the most popular events at the festival as usual. The yoga session takes place Friday night at 10 PM at Maclaren to Cooper, the Glowfit block. Lead by Ottawa’s top yoga instructor Nigel Walker, and featuring live music by DJ Seriousblack, this is sure to be a blast. So grab a friend and your yoga mat and don’t miss it!

Main Stage Music Performances (Slater to Laurier)

Of course Glowfair wouldn’t be anything without all the amazing live music! The main stage, located at the corner of Bank and Slater, at the front of the Slater to Laurier Main Stage block, will be featuring some of Canada’s hottest EDM and pop artists such as JUNO winner Neon Dreams and JUNO nominee Alyssa Reid. Artists will be performing on the main stage on both Friday and Saturday nights, so it’s sure to be a jamming time.

Don't forget, despite it's name, Glowfair runs activities in the day too with Bank becoming a big street party with buskers, sidewalks sales, patio specials and more!
