Grill Maintenance

Ribs, burgers, sausages, veggies—it seems this summer your grill is working on overdrive. We don’t blame you! A delicious meal, hot off the grill is the perfect way to celebrate summer. But while we are treating ourselves, we can’t forget to take good care of our barbeque too!

As we approach the halfway mark of summer (it’s going by so fast!), here are some easy maintenance tips to keep your grill cooking mouth-watering food for the rest of the season:

  • Weber-Food1[1]Who loves grill marks on their barbequed food? Just about everyone. To achieve this desirable effect, your grill must be hot and it must be clean! Clean your grates before every use to keep food from sticking and picking up residue from last night’s meal. Close the lid of your barbeque, preheat to 500°F and then use a long-handled grill brush to dislodge any charred bits stuck on the grates.
  • Your barbeque pampers you with great food, so show some love right back! Pamper your barbeque once a month to a full cleaning. Wipe down the outside of your grill with warm, soapy water. Then don’t forget to scrape residue from the inside of the lid. Gas grillers should remove grates, brush the burners and clean out the drip pan and cook box. Charcoal grillers must remember to regularly remove ash sitting at the bottom. Your grill will appreciate the cleaning and keep going strong for a long time.
