Pilar’s Picks: Alysha Brilla

Hi there! My name is Pilar Adams and I am a grade 12 student at St. Mark Catholic High School in Manotick. I’m doing a four-month co-operative education placement at Ottawa Life Magazine and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I will be uploading two to three posts a week under “Pilar’s Picks” featuring a new artist each time! I love music and want to share new artists that I come across with OLM readers. Read, like, comment and share! I can’t wait to get started.

Alysha Brilla is a Tanzanian-Canadian singer, songwriter, producer and an impressive 2014 Juno nominee. She is a multi-talented artist who plays guitar, piano and djembe. Brilla creates an extremely unique soul-folk sound that has been growing rapidly on stage internationally. She released her first full-length record, In My Head during the summer of 2013. This album is available on iTunes and is most definitely worth a listen. A few of Brilla’s singles have been featured on major network television shows such as “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and “King”. She has also been featured on CBC, Global TV and Omni network. Now enough talk. I think it’s time for all of you to give this talented artist a listen. I can’t wait for another album! This is one of my personal favourites: “Two Shots”:  http://bit.ly/1hCo0SM. To learn more about Brilla checkout her website: http://bit.ly/1n2mmLP, follow her on twitter: http://bit.ly/OTVbHv and like her Facebook page: http://on.fb.me/1gNpNSD.
