
Canadensis Garden Fall Celebration – Sat. Sept 23rd
Experience nature in all its fall splendour at Canadensis Garden, the home of the future Botanical Garden of Canada. In collaboration with Gardens Ottawa, the Fall Celebration offers plenty of FREE family fun, including horse-drawn wagon rides, children’s activities, site tours and floral/botanical artworks to admire. New to the garden is the A Stitch In Time art installation by Gayle Hermick, the same artist who created Red Stilettos unveiled in 2022.
Highlights:
- New art installation: A Stitch In Time by Gayle Hermick – Gayle will be on-site to talk about this sculpture and Red Stilettos
- Foyer Gallery Ottawa Artist Displays
- Ottawa Society of Botanical Painters, exhibits and education
- Musical Garden by Artist Jesse Stewart featuring 12 ludophones – Performances at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
- Master Gardeners (Ask The Expert)
- Children’s hay bale play area
- Children’s Canadensis Scavenger Hunt – Children who complete the scavenger hunt will receive a small pot, soil and wildflower seeds to take home and plant
- Horse-drawn wagon rides
- Tree planting and other activities in honour of National Tree Day (September 20)
- Walking tour of the Canadensis Garden site
