5 Professions That Are Fun and Rewarding

Every passing year, there are hundreds of thousands of students in Canada graduating from high school. At that time, they have to make one of the most important life decisions that will make or break their future.

They have to decide a profession and this can be a very difficult decision to make. In simple words, we should pick a profession that attracts us the most but for the right reasons.

Most of us would like a profession that pays well, isn’t very tiring and also pays well. To help you in this regard, we have prepared a list of five professions that are fun and rewarding. Without much ado, let’s have a look.

1.     Teacher

Teaching is noble profession with teachers making about $60,000 per annum. You will need at least a bachelor’s degree in your niche to apply for this position. For example, if you wish to be a math tutor, you must have a degree in maths. Other than this, you may also have to pass some state tests to get a decent job as a teacher.

The amount of money you make as a teacher depends on several factors including your education, experience and most importantly the level you teach at. For example, if you teach university level students, you can make up to $200,000 per year. However, you will need a higher degree to qualify to teach at that level.

2.     Application / Software Developer

Application and software developers are hugely in demand as it is the era of technology. They make about $68,496 per annum, but in this case the sky's the limit. If you work for yourself, the amount of money you make only depends on how popular your app is.

You can make a nice app and put it on the platform for people to use. The more number of people download and use your app, the more money you make either by selling it or by advertising on it.

Think about Angry Birds, it became a very popular game and the makers earned millions through it. If you love computers and know languages you can easily make this a career.

3.       Real estate agent

If you love properties then this can be a good career option. It does not require any specific degree but most employers demand a graduate for this post.

The average yearly salary is about $68,784 and the work is not very difficult either. A real estate agent helps people buy and sell property and with the property market riding high, the opportunities in this field are endless.

4.       Marketing manager

Marketing managers make about $85,000/year. You will need a degree in marketing to apply in this field.

Back in the day, marketing managers only needed to market products and services, but today they are also looked at as a company’s spokesperson as their role has only become bigger.

5.       Lawyer

Lawyers make about $72,000/year, but if you are lucky you can make a lot more money. This largely depends on the kind of cases you fight and how good of a track record you have.

You will first need a bachelor’s degree to sit for the law exam and then clear the bar exam to be able to fight in the court of law.
