Look Away Ottawa Fans: Toronto Has Big Months Ahead in Sports

Just as the Senators’ terrible season seems to be closing out with a limp whimper, Toronto seems to be going from strength to strength. It’s not just in NHL either, where the Maple Leafs are in the mix once again. In NBA The Raptors have posted the third-best record and are very much in contention as the Playoffs begin. Even in MLB, the Blue Jays have started the season well and could be an interesting longshot candidate for the World Series.

Below is a look at those three teams and their chances of bringing some silverware back to Ontario over the coming months. If you want to back them, then check out the latest Sports Interaction bonus and betting promotions offered by Online Sports Betting Canada. Toronto Maple Leafs

Stanley Cup Odds: 11.00

The Maple Leafs were not too far behind the Boston Bruins in the Atlantic Division, so it makes for an interesting match up in the Eastern Conference 1st round playoffs. The Bruins boast the second-best record in NHL, but Rick Nash is in a race to get fit. He may be a big loss.

As for the Maple Leafs, much of the hope will be put on the young shoulder of Auston Matthews – can the 20-year-old handle all the pressure of the playoffs? All the signs say yes. Boston do look like a tough prospect though, so don’t be surprised if Maple Leafs players join Senators on the sofa when the next round occurs.

Toronto Raptors

NBA Finals Odds: 7.50

There are currently two games to go in the NBA regular season, but the Raptors had booked their place in the playoffs a long time ago by way of topping the Eastern Conference. They are on course to post the NBA’s second-best record, which would give them home advantage in the Finals against any team but the Rockets.

Can they go all the way to Finals and beyond? Everyone is talking about Houston Rockets (2.50) or Golden State Warriors (2.25) as likely champions, but only one team from the Western Conference can make the Finals, so seeing Toronto in the Finals against one of them is not unlikely.

Toronto Blue Jays

World Series Odds: 19.00

Of course, the MLB season has just got underway, so it is probably much too early to tell how the Blue Jays season will pan out. However, they have started the season in decent form, posting a series win against the much-fancied Yankees (7.50). Justin Smoak has been particularly impressive in the early games, but the offense as whole has been pretty impressive.

Can they do something spectacular this season? Their biggest issue is the fact they share the AL East with the Yankees and Boston Red Sox. However, any team finishing ahead of those two would rightly be considered strong candidates for the postseason. If they keep going the way they have started, they may have a chance.
