Pajama Party with a Purpose

Ever wonder how to combine really relaxing, shopping, catching an inspiring movie with your girlfriends on a Sunday afternoon – and casually getting great advice from admired local entrepreneurs? Well, look no further! The Women in Business Conference is putting on a pajama party at the all saints urban space located at 10 Blackburn Avenue in Sandy Hill this Sunday March 5th at 2pm and everyone is invited! Unlike the Women in Business Conference on March 8th, tickets are still available to this informal networking event with a twist! Additionally, proceeds from the event will be supporting Naylah’s Legacy, a local charity that supports the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at CHEO.

Ottawa’s biggest pajama party begins at 2 pm. Guests are encouraged to bring yoga mats, pillows and other comfort essentials for the main event that follows some mingling and shopping. The main event is the screening of the inspiring film Dream, Girl is and it set to start at 3 pm. Dream, Girl is a documentary film made entirely by women that follows diverse female entrepreneurs from various industries, including Ottawa’s own Komal Minhas, highlighting both their struggles and hopes as well as their triumphs and paths to success. The producers Erin Bagwell and Komal Minhas had their film Dream, Girl premiered at the White House and, thanks to their film; they landed a spot on Oprah’s SuperSoul100 list. The infamous and exclusive list features extraordinary individuals “that live intentionally, create great social impact ad bring inspiration to others.”

The film is certainly a conversation starter and that conversation will continue after the screening with a pajama panel featuring high profile entrepreneurs such as The Beacon Agency’s winner of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women (4 years in a row) Janice McDonald, award-winning Start Up Canada Co-Founder Victoria Lennox, über-popular fitness coach and brand Lydia Di Francesco, creator of the Women in Business Conference Sandra Tisiot and spiritually inspired personal coach and teacher Jennifer Clark.

Regarding the idea to host a pre-Women-In-Business-Conference-event of such an informal nature, founder Sandra Tisiot said: “Sometimes my feet want to be free, sometimes I just want to be in my pj’s all day; at our home, we call this ‘pajama day’. We are blessed to live in a wonderful supportive city called Ottawa with so many events, so many glamorous events. For this pre-conference event, I wanted to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and you can’t get more relaxed than being in your pj’s. Just the thought of it conjures up pillow talk, pillow comfort and everything in between. Plus, we sit in chairs all the time and it is not good for our hips; so we are going to stretch out on the floor, stand, sit, or move in any comfortable way we wish. After, the movie and special delights we will chat in an environment that is filled with comfort, conversation and sisterhood.”

The afternoon pajama party is intended to bring together women from various business sectors and at various stages of their entrepreneurial development for an informal opportunity to connect, learn and be inspired together. It is a unique opportunity to experience a new way of networking and at $25, very affordable.
