AERO Gatineau‑Ottawa Returns with High‑Flying Thrills and the Snowbirds’ Final Regional Show

Canada’s love affair with aviation runs deep, from military heritage to bush flying to world‑class aerospace innovation, and AERO Gatineau‑Ottawa is where that passion takes flight right in the National Capital Region’s backyard.

For three action‑packed days starting September 18, 2026, one of Canada’s premier air shows returns with a lineup that blends current military demonstrations, vintage warbirds, aerobatic performers, and family‑friendly fun. If you love fast jets, historic aircraft, or simply a great day out, this is your weekend.

And this year comes with a historic moment: the final appearance in Ottawa-Gatineau of the iconic Canadian Forces Snowbirds before their operational pause. AERO Gatineau-Ottawa Director General John Bennett calls it a privilege to host the team, adding, “Though bittersweet, we will mark the occasion with a celebration befitting this iconic team.” Expect emotion, pride, and one last unforgettable performance from Canada’s most beloved flyers.

But the Snowbirds are just the beginning. Bennett promises “three days of high‑speed and inspiring performances,” including the CF‑18 tactical demonstration, The SkyHawks parachute team, and several first‑time performers ready to win over the crowd.

Beyond the aerial action, visitors can enjoy Friday night’s drone and pyrotechnic show, explore the grounds, and meet pilots and performers at the brand‑new Meet the Performers Tent, complete with scheduled autograph sessions and photo ops all weekend long.

This year also brings added flexibility: any general admission ticket is valid for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, making it easier to plan around weather or weekend schedules. And getting there is simple — hop on a shuttle from multiple Gatineau transit hubs, or drive to the Gatineau Executive Airport, 20 kilometres east of downtown Ottawa, and park in one of the adjacent lots.

Adult general admission, one‑day tickets for AERO Gatineau-Ottawa are $59, with a Family General Admission Ticket at $125 (two adults and any number of kids under 12). There are also tickets for elevated experiences, multi‑day discounts, and special pricing for members of the military and veterans.

As with any air show, schedules can shift, and aircraft availability may change, so follow AERO Gatineau‑Ottawa on Facebook @AeroGatineauOttawa for the latest updates.

AERO Gatineau‑Ottawa is gearing up to be one of the most memorable aviation events of the year — and with the Snowbirds’ farewell performance on the schedule, it’s truly a can’t‑miss weekend.
