A huge beer fest kicks off in Gatineau featuring 350 varieties of beer, a ferris wheel and more

Kick off the last month of summer with Festibière 2021! Celebrating its 10th year, postponed in 2020 in light of the pandemic, the National Capital Region’s biggest beer fest is back and promises to be better than ever.

Hosted at Place des Festivals Zibi, the stunning, recently-developed waterfront entertainment section of the Zibi condominium site right across the pond in Gatineau, the festival is a must-go for all beer lovers. The festival runs from Wednesday to Saturday for two consecutive weeks, Aug. 4th to 7th and Aug. 11 – 14th respectively, and brings together over 30 of the region’s best brewers on a giant patio.

Not a beer drinker? No worries. Along with all the beer, the festival also features live music every day, gourmet food trucks, a 70-foot-high ferris wheel, and a man-made beach complete with real sand, water, and paddle boats.

Also, fun fact–Did you know that Festibière has been officially recognized as a “green festival?” In 2016, the festival was declared winner of the “Prevention / Reduction at the source” category at “Les Vivats, Les prix Loto-Québec,” recognizing it as the festival with the best green practices in Quebec’s event scene! The festival organizers are committed to being green and improving their eco-friendly initiatives every year. These initiatives include providing all festival guests with a reusable cup upon entry that they must use for their beverage samples in place of disposable cups. All food containers are also reusable or compostable and green bins and recycle bins are provided throughout the festival site.

Tickets are available via the Festibière website now. To adhere to COVID health guidelines, tickets are sold in 3-hour time slots. They’re going fast, so book your slot now and don’t miss out on what is sure to be one of the hottest tickets of the summer in the Outaouais!
