Alex Wilson brings legal experience from Brookfield, RBC to the national capital business community   

After almost two decades of providing in-house legal advice to some of Canada’s top companies and industry leaders, Alex Wilson has launched a new legal consulting practice to help entrepreneurs in an ever-evolving business landscape.           

The commercial lawyer honed his in-demand skills by tackling legal and regulatory challenges in cross-border businesses, from renewable power to commercial banking. Most recently, he served as chief legal officer for a multinational weight loss and wellness company.             

“I want to give startups and small business owners the same kind of in-house counsel that’s typically only available to larger businesses,” says Wilson. “Instead of working with one company, I can apply my know-how as an experienced general counsel to support multiple enterprises simultaneously.”              

Wilson can help companies navigate the intricacies of legal compliance, work through contracts, support with day-to-day matters and make strategic decisions. He can also assist in optimizing the use of legal resources by liaising with external counsel.   

“I saw an opportunity in the market to be a guiding hand for companies so they can focus on what they do best, which is growing their business,” he says.    

Now, Wilson brings his breadth of legal expertise from Bay Street to Ottawa and is actively building a roster of selective clients looking to scale their operations with his business-first insights, expertise and personalized attention.
