Ottawa’s annual Caribbean celebration Carivibe is back hotter as ever this Saturday, June 17th! Taking place on the beautiful Petrie Island in Orléans, this is gonna be a jam packed day of music, food and more that you’ll absolutely not want to miss. Here’s a round up of just some of the stand out events of the festival that you don’t want to miss.

The Music

The music is the heart of Carivibe and this year is set to be a good one with over 25 musical acts taking the stage on Petrie Island, ranging from DJs to steel drum bands. A stand out performance to look forward to is the “Bastid’s BBQ” set which will be headlined by Juno-nominated DJ Skratch Bastid and feature 2016 Red Bull Threestyle World Champ DJ Puffy from Barbados and Bear and DJ NDN of A Tribe Called Red among others. It is sure to be a party, so you do not want to miss it!

The Food

If you’re craving Caribbean food, Carivibe is the place to be this weekend! Some of the best Caribbean food vendors from the Ottawa area and beyond will be at the fest selling some delicious grub. Whether you’re craving Jamaican patties, some stewed curry chicken or some rice and beans, you are sure to find it at the festival. There will also be a bar tent at the festival selling drinks, so get your party on!

The After Parties

Another big part of Carivibe are all the block parties and after parties that accompany it. One of the official parties are the Bam Bam Block Party, which spans three night clubs in downtown Ottawa and will feature DJ Puffy, Skratch Bastid, Mace and more. The second is the Endless Shades of Summer Boat Cruise which takes place the next day on June 18th. To attend these events, you must purchase one of two “Priority Wristband” Carivibe ticket bundles.

Tickets for Carivibe, as well as ticket bundles which include the additional parties, can be purchased in advanced here. Festival tickets will also be available on site the day of for $25. For more details about the festival, check out the official Carivibe website.
