Cirque du Soleil, the sensational international success, began with a small theatre troupe in Quebec. The young entertainers, among whom was Cirque du Soleil-founder Guy Laliberté, walked on stilts, juggled, danced, breathed fire and played music. During Quebec’s 450th anniversary celebration of Jacques Cartier’s discovery of Canada in 1984, the province sought an event to bring the festivities to all Quebecers. Guy Laliberté convinced the organizers that the answer was a provincial tour of Cirque du Soleil, and the rest is history!
Recognized worldwide for its high-quality entertainment, Cirque du Soleil has sought to spark the imagination, senses and emotions of audiences across the globe through its uniquely breathtaking shows that exemplify the art of performance. Creativity lies at the heart of Cirque du Soleil’s success. With a deep respect for the work of all artists, Cirque du Soleil offers its expert creators the freedom to collaboratively bring their wildest dreams to life.
Varekai is certainly no exception.
Expect to be whisked away into an evening of unequivocal entertainment that will enchant like pure magic.
