Experience the 8th Ottawa Korean Film Festival: Free Screenings in Theatres and Online
The Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) is proud to present the 8th Ottawa Korean Film Festival (OKFF), running from October 15 to 26 in Ottawa.
This year’s edition shines a spotlight on films inspired by Korean webcomics, under the theme “Comic Frames to Cinema Flames.” The festival explores the creative exchange between the two mediums, featuring not only films adapted from webcomics but also works that have been reimagined as webcomics or expanded through prequel stories.
A total of eight films will be screened both in theatres and online, offering audiences a rich and diverse viewing experience. Theatrical screenings in Ottawa include My Daughter is a Zombie, Yumi’s Cells: The Movie, Somebody, and Firefighters. Online audiences can enjoy Holy Night: Demon Hunters, Peninsula, Secret Zoo, and Late Blossom.
Festival-goers can also take part in interactive experiences, including a photo booth featuring themed film posters and special souvenir giveaways.
“The webcomic is a hallmark of Korean K-content that has captured global attention,” said the KCC. “Its influence continues to grow across genres, and through this festival, we aim to showcase the cultural value created at the intersection of webcomics and film.”
Admission is free. For the full schedule, film details, and ticketing information, please visit the official festival website.
