The world around us is constantly evolving. With the help of journalists from across the country, Canadians stay informed of the events occurring around them.

To highlight the motivating, courageous, and diverse voices of women in Canadian media, Invest Ottawa and Syntax Strategic are co-presenting Her-Spective: a weeklong interview series with five leading female journalists. Hosted by Catherine Clark, these engaging conversations give insight into the reality of covering the generation-defining events of 2020 and beyond.

Catherine Clark is the President of Catherine Clark Communications and Special Advisor to Syntax Strategic, providing communications counsel to individuals, institutions and corporations. As well, Clark is a nationally respected broadcaster, emcee, and co-founder of The Honest Talk, a popular new podcast featuring honest discussions with notable women.

Dedicated to community service, Catherine writes the Giving Back column for Ottawa at Home magazine and serves on the boards of CARE Canada, CARE International in Kenya and The Writers’ Trust of Canada, whose board she chairs.

The Her-Spective series began Wednesday, March 3rd with Tanya Talaga, an Ojibwe author and storyteller. The following event occurred Thursday, March 4th with Adrienne Arsenault, co-host of the CBC’s The National.

On Monday, March 8th join Farah Nasser, award-winning journalist and anchor at Toronto’s Global News. The series wraps up on Tuesday, March 9th with Susan Delacourt and Julie Van Dusen. Delacourt is a current columnist for the Toronto Star and author, and Dusen is a veteran reporter for CBC News.

Each event is free of charge and runs for one hour past noon. Registration for the remaining events is here.
