One of the national capital regions’ best travel and tourism excursions is back for another season. 2022 marks the fifth anniversary of Le Boat traversing through the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal with routes from Ottawa to Kingston.

Le Boat is a worldwide leader in boat rental vacations. They are kicking off the 2022 season in style by launching an ownership program across North America and welcoming six brand new Horizon Plus boats to its fleet, giving the company 30 boats at its docking facility in Smith Falls. The ‘Le Boating’ season begins on the Victoria Day Long Weekend, May 20, 2022.

“We are so delighted to start our 2022 season with a much more positive outlook than we’ve had in previous years, and the addition of the new Horizon Plus boats shows the amazing growth and continued interest we have had,” said Managing Director of Le Boat, Cheryl Brown. “With the worst of the pandemic hopefully behind us, travel confidence is steadily returning, and bookings are flooding in once more. It feels so good to be preparing our boats and bases to open with more certainty.”

New Boat Features

The Horizon Plus models are identical in build, layout, and quality to the standard Horizon fleet but have a few additional features to elevate the customer experience. The additional features of these brand-new boats include hotel-quality mattresses with memory foam, premium cushions on the sun deck, and smart TVs capable of streaming all your favourite streaming services.

Boat Ownership Program Expands Across North America

The brand-new Horizon Plus boats join the expansion of Le Boat’s ownership program into Canada as exciting additions to the opening of the 2022 boating season in Canada. The Boat Ownership Program enables committed cruisers to enjoy boating season in nine different cruising regions in Canada and Europe, creating substantial savings and making owning a boat simple and worry-free.

The Le Boat Ownership Program is similar to a ‘time-share’ or boat share program and is suitable for travelers who enjoy boating more than once a year and is an affordable alternative. Le Boat covers all the cost of boat maintenance, dockage, off-season storage and provides ongoing maintenance, and they look after it like one of their own – at no extra cost to boat owners. Owners will enjoy ten weeks of Cruising in both Canada and Europe each year and receive a six percent return of the boat’s purchase value per month. Le Boat offers a guaranteed buy-back of 50 percent of the initial cost after seven years, meaning that travelers know their exit value and options from the beginning.

How Le Boat Works

Luxury house boating vacations provide an alternative to road trips and summer cottaging that enable travelers to discover Ontario’s lakes and outdoors, including the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No Boat license or previous boating experience is required. Le Boat teaches travelers everything they need to know to captain their own boat. Boat rentals start at just $3016 for seven nights onboard a Horizon 1 (sleeping up to 5 people)

Travel with confidence

Holidaymakers continue to be reassured by Le Boat’s Covid Safety Charter, which was implemented last year and applies to all its destinations at home and abroad. The extensive health and safety procedures ensure customers have a safe and worry-free experience. Holidaymakers are protected by the operator’s Go Boating with Confidence flexible booking policy, which allows customers to make one date change to their booking free of charge up to 14 days before their departure or get a full refund if they need to cancel their trip due to COVID-19.
