Les Grands Feux Is Back — Lighting Up Summer in the Best Ways

The 29th edition of Les Grands Feux Casino Lac-Leamy is set to light up the Ottawa-Gatineau sky beginning July 29—and if there’s one thing we know, summer simply isn’t summer without fireworks.

Running from July 29 to August 15, 2026, this beloved festival combines world-class pyromusical performances, family-friendly fun, immersive experiences, and delicious local cuisine on the beautiful grounds of the Canadian Museum of History.

Les Grands Feux has become much more than a fireworks festival. It’s an evening-long celebration that offers something for everyone. This year marks the return of fan favourites like The Magic Forest family zone, along with the debut of The Enchanted Dome—an immersive new space designed especially for children and their families. Whatever you do, be sure to arrive early and make the most of everything the festival site has to offer.

Éric Meunier, Director, Social Engagement at Loto-Québec, a festival partner, says, “Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy perfectly embodies the spirit of major summer events: accessible, creative and deeply rooted in their community.”

Come hungry! Grab a bite from one of the local food trucks at La Plaza Promutuel while enjoying live DJ sets, or elevate your evening with one of the festival’s gourmet experiences. Choose from Gourmet Evenings, an exclusive dining experience hosted by a local chef, or Taste the Sky, a culinary journey inspired by the featured country of the evening.

Gourmet Evenings, offered on August 1 and August 8, feature a three-course meal served in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of History before guests head out to the museum’s terrace for spectacular views of the fireworks over the Ottawa River.

Available on all six festival nights, Taste the Sky offers a themed tasting menu paired with signature cocktails made from local spirits, regional beers, and creative mocktails. Set in its own immersive open-air space, the experience combines luminous décor, artistic murals, and theatrical service for a dining experience unlike any other.

“With Taste the Sky, we wanted to create a signature moment that extends the Les Grands Feux experience well beyond the show itself,” says Julie Moffatt, President and CEO of Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy. “It’s an invitation to discover the cultures of the world and to celebrate the talent of our local chefs and artisans who bring this vision to life every evening.”

The festivities kick off on July 29 with The First Sound of Light, inspired by the world of Casino Royale and accompanied by a live DJ to start the celebration in style. The remaining pyromusical performances will showcase Canada on August 1, France on August 5, Brazil on August 8, and China on August 12, before culminating with the Grand Finale on August 15.

You don’t have to wait for the fireworks for the magic to begin. As darkness falls, the festival grounds transform into an immersive wonderland featuring light installations, interactive projections, and digital art that create a sensory experience all their own.

General admission starts at just $8.50 for children and $21 for adults and includes access to signature festival experiences such as The Magic Forest, The Enchanted Dome, and Storytime. Looking to enhance your evening? Reserved seating options are available for an additional cost.

For an even more memorable view, guests can choose from two premium seating experiences. Terrasse Nordik Spa Village offers comfortable seating and exceptional views of the pyromusical shows, while the new NCC Dock places you at the front of the action in a classic Muskoka chair.

And if you’re visiting on a Saturday, don’t rush home after the fireworks. Head back to La Plaza Promutuel where the live DJ keeps the party going with an outdoor disco that’s anything but silent.

Les Grands Feux has become a summer favourite for locals and tourists to the National Capital Region, offering much more than a celebration of arts and culture. Les Grands Feux is a non-profit that gives back to the community, with this year’s benefactor being Gatineau-based Boulev’Art de la Vallée, which supports adults living with mental health challenges.

“At Loto-Québec, we are proud to support an initiative that brings people together, celebrates creativity and reflects a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility,” avers Meunier.

Les Grands Feux has also earned recognition for its commitment to sustainability and is currently developing a sustainable development plan in collaboration with Enviro Éduc-Action that will strengthen existing initiatives and help guide the festival’s future environmental actions—including those related to the fireworks themselves.
