Marni Set to Collaborate with Mass Retailer H&M

Move over Versace!  There’s a new designer set to appear in stores of the mass retailer H&M in the New Year. The high fashion label Marni is set to release its Spring 2012 collaboration on March 8th and it is without a doubt that there will be a similar reaction as seen in the recent release of Versace for H&M (see the OLM article here:    http://www.ottawalife.com/index.php/versace-for-hm/)

If Versace for H&M was any indication of the long lineups and frantic scrambling both in stores and online for the must-have line, shoppers can expect to have only once chance to get their hands on this next designer collaboration. Versace for H&M sold out within hours and only a few items were sold on eBay at twice (or in some cases three) times the price.

Marni offers an eclectic range of prints that will have any fashion insider standing in line hours prior to the opening to own a piece of Marni at a fraction of the price.

Consuelo Castiglioni the founder and creative director of Marni intends to speak to a younger generation with the spring collaboration, but fully intends to maintain the same “attention to quality, craft and detail that Marni is known for”. The attention to detail and creative vision behind the line will bring out a select group of fashionistas looking for something unique to build their spring wardrobe around.

The brand mixes clashing prints and patterns amidst playful and sporty styling with unique accessories that have for years left fashion editors raving.  In a behind-the-scenes video, the chic world of Marni is shown to have a strong creative vision that has continually inspired the world of fashion.  The upcoming line consists of tribal prints, color blocking and a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’.

H&M has previously collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin. The Marni collection will be sold in 260 stores worldwide and online.
