Ottawa singer Sophie D’Orléans celebrates her first release

Sophie D’Orleans, daughter of a second wave feminist and a scientist turned computer guru, is an indie R&B sing-songwriter and pianist. On March 8, 2020, the Ottawa-based artist will be celebrating the release of her first single, From Me, and performing for the first time with her new trio.

With her melodic voice and meaningful lyrics, the song is an ode to the generations of women in her family. Taking place on International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating and recognising women of the past, present and future, Sophie’s performance will feature a local female fronted lineup. All proceeds will be donated to Girls+ Rock Ottawa.

The performance will take place at Cinqhole (5 Fairmont Ave Unit b) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. You can access her event on Facebook here and buy tickets here.

Since the song is an ode to the generations of women in her family, the performance is taking place on International Women’s Day, and features a completely local female- fronted line-up. All proceeds will be donated to Girls+ Rock Ottawa.
