Ottawa’s Newest Summer Festival: LOL Ottawa Delivers a Weekend of Non‑Stop Comedy

Taking over clubs and venues across the ByWard Market, including Laugh Lounge, Sky Lounge, Lowertown Brewery, Heart & Crown, and Speakeasy, the inaugural LOL Ottawa Comedy Festival celebrates Canada’s top comedic talent and kicks off what promises to be the capital’s newest must‑attend summer tradition.

Festival organizers say, “We wanted to launch this festival by shining a massive spotlight on the incredible comedic talent right here in our own backyard.”

Running Thursday, July 23 through Saturday, July 25, the three-night festival brings together established headliners, rising stars, and unforgettable performances across multiple venues — a weekend packed with laughs from start to finish.

Also Friday, Steve Patterson, the multi‑award‑winning host of CBC Radio’s The Debaters, joins his “Associates” — guest comedians for some sharp, conversational sparring — at Sky Lounge 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Che Durena headlines at Laugh Lounge 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The B.C. native exploded online thanks to years of hard work honing his craft — his shows are famously raw, fearless, and unapologetically funny.

Beyond the headliners, the LOL Ottawa Comedy Festival serves up specialty shows every night: The Queer Show, The French Show, The Ladies Show, The Dirty Show, Strip Joker, and The Dirty Bird Roast.
