Tim Horton’s Continues Legacy of Sweet Support for Ottawa Kids
The sun is finally shining and temperatures are rising in Ottawa, but there were even bigger smiles at The Snowsuit Fund yesterday. Local Tim Hortons owners presented the organization with a cheque for $338,000—funds raised through this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign. The donation will help provide nearly 6,800 brand-new snowsuits to children in need across Ottawa.
Who would have thought a simple cookie could help keep thousands of children warm during Ottawa’s harsh winters? The Smile Cookie Campaign marks the first and biggest fundraiser of the season for The Snowsuit Fund—and once again, community support exceeded expectations.
Operating without any government funding, The Snowsuit Fund is entirely powered by the generosity of Ottawa residents. Each year, it distributes close to 19,000 snowsuits to low-income families, offering children 15 years and under more than just warmth—it gives them access to outdoor play, improved health, confidence, and inclusion.
Board Chair Martin Masse shared: “Every year, the Smile Cookie campaign does more than raise funds — it inspires our community, engages new supporters, and fuels our mission. You’ve helped turn cookies into snowsuits, and your efforts wrap our city’s children in warmth, dignity, and care.”
The Ottawa campaign is part of a broader North America–wide initiative that raised a record $22.6 million for charities and community groups.
