Yuk it Up With Roy Wood Jr. When Just for Laughs Comedy Tour Stops in Ottawa

The Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe is a great entertainment destination in the nation’s capital. From concerts to calendar-timed events, there is literally something for everyone.

Next week, the trend of great entertainment continues as the Just for Laughs Comedy Tour makes a two-night stop at the theatre. Tuesday, November 7th, and Wednesday, November 8th will be a couple of great nights of comedy headlined by Roy Wood Jr.

Many people were re-introduced to Wood Jr. at the 2023 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, where he stole the show. The audience in the room and those watching remotely embraced his refreshing observations. No stranger to standup, Wood Jr. has had several comedy specials, and it will be exciting to see him perform here in Ottawa.

In addition to Roy Wood Jr., Malik Elassal, Critics Choice Award nominee Joyelle Nicole Johnson, and Arthur Simeon will also be taking to the stage. Several years ago, I saw Simeon perform on Preston Street at Absolute Comedy. The comedian has also sat in as a guest host on CTV’s The Social.

The Just for Laughs tour has a solid lineup. I recently had the chance to speak to Roy Wood Jr. about what audiences can expect.
