Can Atlético keep the goals coming?

Atlético Ottawa are on a different level this year. In their first four games they have conceded three goals and scored 13. After four games last year they had scored five and conceded four.

It is early in the season, but the team has been playing very well. C.E.O. Fernando Lopez and Coach Carlos Gonzalez have constructed a stronger team for the 2024 campaign. This was evident Wednesday night when they beat Valour FC 7-0 in the Canadian Championship game.

Everything was clicking Wednesday night for Atlético, and it wasn’t as if they were trying to run up the score, they just couldn’t miss.

Sunday will feel like Groundhog Day as Atlético host Valour, this time as one of their four meetings in the Canadian Premier League. Can Valour FC make the necessary adjustments and bounce back from the thrashing they received on Wednesday? Can Atlético keep the goals coming?

One way to find out. Kick-off is Sunday at 2 p.m. at TD Place and tickets can be purchased here.
