The Health Benefits of Restoring Natural Testosterone Levels

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) provides hope for many individuals seeking to reclaim balance, vitality and vigour. There are various forms of HRT, but testosterone pellet insertion therapy has emerged as a promising solution. It offers a convenient and effective means of replenishing testosterone levels in the body.

Approved by Health Canada, Ottawa Life Magazine recently spoke to Dr. Shawn Seit from Rejuuv Medi Spa, an aesthetic physician who is delivering the treatment to the Canadian market.

During the late 20s and early 30s, testosterone levels peak but naturally decline as we age. Dr. Seit explains that testosterone is a needed hormone in both males and females for muscle growth, sexual libido, and positive mental health.

Testosterone pellet insertion involves the subcutaneous placement of small testosterone pellets beneath the skin, typically in the hip or buttock region. The pellet is composed of bioidentical testosterone and gradually releases the hormone into the bloodstream over a period of several months.

Depending on the gender, patients have the small pellet inserted under the skin three to four times a year. A sustained release mechanism ensures stable testosterone levels, minimizing the fluctuations often associated with other forms of testosterone replacement.

Dr. Seit explains that the procedure takes around 10 minutes, and generally, the only complaints of pain come from the effects of the local anaesthetic.

Testosterone profoundly affects mood, cognition, and emotional stability. The benefits of this new pellet form of HRT include reduced irritability, enhanced mental clarity, and a greater sense of well-being. HRT therapy can alleviate symptoms by restoring the body’s natural hormonal balance.

Dr. Seit notes that prior to treatment, some of his patients complained of brain fog, which cleared up after starting HRT.

Testosterone also plays a crucial role in regulating sexual desire, arousal, and erectile function in men. By optimizing testosterone levels, Dr. Seit says he’s heard from patients who have recovered erectile function that was in decline. Many men started getting morning erections again without having to use pharmaceuticals like Viagra.

Pellet insertion therapy can reignite waning libido, improve sexual performance, and restore intimacy and satisfaction in relationships.

Testosterone is also known for its anabolic properties, stimulating protein synthesis and muscle growth. It enables individuals to achieve their fitness goals more effectively. Dr. Seit, who has taken the treatment himself, says that the physical changes to his body in the last year have been unreal, and although he has not lost any weight, the weight shift and gain in muscle mass are “night and day.”

As with all procedures, medical background work is needed, starting with some basic bloodwork and a physical to ensure that prospective patients are suited for the treatment if they’re experiencing cardiovascular issues or have a diagnosis of prostate cancer, which can be accelerated with testosterone therapy. Aside from these issues, Dr. Seit assures that the process is safe and effective.

Testosterone HRT pellet insertion represents a transformative approach to ageing. Surgical methods exist to make people look younger. Still, Dr. Seit says, “Now I have the ability to really make someone feel and look the best, not just externally but also internally, and that to me is incredible.”

However, the doctor still stresses, even with the therapy, the importance of eating well, getting regular exercise, and getting a proper eight hours of sleep to bring out the full medical benefits of the process.

Currently, pellet HRT is available in British Columbia and at Dr. Seit’s clinics in the greater Toronto area; however, he is helping to expand the availability of the process by teaching doctors country-wide. Currently, he has lectures scheduled in Montreal, and before long, he hopes that the non-evasive treatment will be available to patients in the National Capital region.
