One of the best ways to get around is by using public transportation, but there are plenty of options, such as trains, buses, taxis, and boats.

In that case, you will also need to get a ride from a taxi or tuk-tuk; always request to use the meter. In addition, if you use a boat, bring a boat for 40 baht, and avoid using the 100-baht boats, even if they tell you that you will be waiting a long time for the next 40 bath boat since this isn’t true.
Another important consideration you will need to make is where you plan on staying when visiting Bangkok. There are many areas to choose from, and your itinerary will be a significant factor in your choice. If you are traveling with your partner, the Bangkok riverside is a great place to stay since it is very romantic and is close to many tourist attractions.

Another destination that should be on your itinerary when visiting Bangkok is the Grand Palace, which is definitely worth the tour. You should probably visit the Grand Palace at the beginning of your stay since the admission fee is 500 baht, and you might not have the money for it at the end of your visit. Remember that there is a strict dress code, but you can rent items to cover your clothing if it is too revealing.
If you are looking for an experience unlike any other, then the next stop you should include on your list is the many markets around Bangkok. One market you should visit is the Bangkok Weekend Market, otherwise known as the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Be warned, however, that this is a top-rated tourist destination, so be prepared to be surrounded at all times.
Finally, the last stop you must make while in Bangkok is Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. It is the largest monastery in the Thai capital, and the world's largest reclining Buddha is located there. To see it only costs 20 baht, which isn’t a lot considering the sight awaiting your eyes. It is a must-see when visiting Bangkok.
