Bio: Evert Akkerman CHRL, LL.M. is an HR professional based out of Newmarket, Ontario. Born and raised in Holland, he immigrated to Canada in 1999 and obtained his HR designation while working for a financial institution. Evert founded XNL HR in 2012 and serves as advisor to entrepreneurs and executives, striving to help organizations unlock their human potential. In 2015, Evert won the inaugural Randstad Canada Talent Award for Innovation in HR. In November 2016, he was named one of the Top-25 HR professionals in Canada by the Canadian HR Reporter and in 2017, he won the Randstad Canada Award for Agility in HR. Outside of practicing HR and writing, Evert is a veteran of six marathons.
